After the phenomenal interest in 10 places you have to add to your bucket list, I’ve decided to list the 10 most amazing things you’ll ever see. These really are an example of how awesome this planet can be. Only a few of us get to see such beauty in our lives. What’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?
10. Swimming with Whale Sharks, Donsol, Philippines
What an amazing experience this is. You can actually get up close and personal with these large and graceful moving Whale Sharks. Swimming within reach of your fingertips in clear and wonderful waters, it is an experience you are never likely to forget.
9. Winters Landscape, Cerro Torre, Patagonia, Chile
This truly breathtaking and serine landscape is as close as most of us will ever get to Antarctica or Narnia. Its awe and majesty will leave an impression that never fades. Truly unforgettable.
8. Volcanic lightening, Sakurajima Volcano, Southern Japan
This is one phenomenon most of us are likely to never witness. The visually stimulating and naturally wonderful spectacle is something of movies or legendary tales, but it actually exists.
7. La Tomatina, Buñol, Valencia, Spain
30,000 people descending on one small town, armed with more than 120,000 kgs of tomatoes. Need I say more?
6. Thingyan, Burmese Water Festival, Yangon, Myanmar
Seriously, wet and wild! The water festival held each year in Myanmar around mid April and celebrates the Burmese New Year. If you like a party and don’t mind getting wet, then this is one truly amazing experience.
5. African Wildlife Safari, All over Africa
If you’ve never done a wildlife safari, then put it on your bucket list. Its truly amazing to see these animals roaming free. See them while you can! There is only one company I would recommend and that’s Impi Safaris, run by Niel Jacobs.
4. Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia
Seriously, the Orangutans are an amazing experience and a memory that will last forever. The staff at Sepilok do an amazing job for an even more amazing cause. Its scary how much like us these little fellas really are.
3. Sky Lantern Festival, Yi Peng, Northern Thailand
WOW! What a visual feast. Celebrated each year alongside Loi Krathong, this festival differs to the water lantern festival in that thousands of lanterns are released into the sky, transforming the night into a golden wonderland.
2. Victoria Falls, Zambia, Africa
Known by the locals as Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning ‘the smoke that thunders’ is awe inspiring. It’s loud, hypnotic, powerful and definitely beautiful. Surrounded by wildlife this gem of a tourist destination offers hang gliding, boating safaris, hiking, helicopter rides and much more. This is mother nature at her brilliant best.
1. Aurora Borealis, Hamary, Nordland, Norway
No this is not photo shopped. Aurorae are caused by cosmic rays, solar wind and magnetospheric plasma interacting with the upper atmosphere. Sounds fancy and looks AMAZING!
